Walk, Hike and Bike at Howard E. Herman Stream Valley Park

By

These days, getting out into the fresh air is so important. That’s just one reason why Howard E. Herman Stream Valley Park, which provides access to natural recreation areas, is so popular. As the first new parkland developed within the city in decades, the park helps to preserve the region’s natural resources, offers environmental education to locals, and facilitates healthy and active lifestyles for all.

In addition to preservation and recreation, the park also provides vital transportation infrastructure to the city, allowing walkers, runners, and cyclists to travel between Thomas Jefferson Elementary and the retail corridor on West Broad without needing to cross auto traffic.

Spanning just over four acres, the park runs roughly parallel to South Lee Street between West Broad and Tripps Run, with additional park and trail access from the path between Sherrow Ave and South Oak.
